Theater

One of the most amazing aspects of life in the ghetto was the existence of cultural life in the face of hunger, hardship and death. Some ghettos even had theaters, and plays were performed for the people living in the ghetto. Both children and adults joined in these plays. It is possible that for the writers, actors and audience of the these plays, spiritual nourishment was no less important than physical nourishment.
