Yiji’s Bar-Mitzvah Present

Yiji Bader was imprisoned in the Theresienstadt Ghetto in Czechoslovakia. Yiji celebrated his Bar-Mitzvah at the age of 14 because a year before, when he had reached his Bar-Mitzvah age, his family could not hold the ceremony. Yiji’s prayer shawl bag was sewn from several pieces of leftover cloth.
